ACA IRS Filing – Submission & Status Management
This SOP outlines the process for submitting ACA forms (1094/1095) to the IRS on behalf of franchise clients once the franchise has completed their setup and form approval in iSolved. Step-by-step platform instructions are covered in the referenced iSolved University articles — this SOP focuses on the workflow and responsibilities between the franchise and the Tax Department.

Approving ACA Forms
Before requesting filing, the franchise must review and approve their ACA forms in iSolved.
Navigation: Client Management > ACA Setup Options > ACA Forms Approval
From this screen, the franchise can:
- Preview forms
- Run Alerts to check for errors
- Approve forms once they are ready
Note: If the franchise has not yet approved their forms but is ready to proceed, the Tax Department can approve on their behalf.
Submitting a Ticket
Once forms are approved, the franchise must submit a ticket to the Tax Department confirming their forms are approved and ready to be filed with the IRS.
Tax Department – Filing Process
Step 1: Export the ACA File
After receiving the franchise's ticket, navigate to:
Production Utilities > ACA Management > ACA 1094/1095 File Export
Create the file(s) to be uploaded to the IRS.

Step 2: Upload to the IRS
Upload the Manifest file and the Request file to the IRS.
Note: The confirmation must be saved to check the status of the file later

Step 3: Save Confirmation
Save the IRS upload confirmation to SharePoint. Littleton - Documents - Annual forms - All Documents
Step 4: Check Submission Status (24–48 Hours)
Return to check the status of the submission. The IRS will return one of the following statuses:
| Status | What It Means | Action Required |
|---|---|---|
| Accepted | No issues. Filing is complete. | No further action needed. |
| Accepted with Errors | Filed, but specific records have errors. | See correction workflow below. |
| Partially Accepted | Some records accepted, some rejected. | See correction workflow below. |
| Rejected | Entire submission was rejected. | See correction workflow below. |
Handling Errors & Rejections
The IRS will provide error files that can be shared with the franchise to identify what needs to be corrected.
- Provide the franchise with as much information as possible from the IRS error file.
- The franchise is responsible for correcting the data in iSolved.
- Once corrections are made and forms are re-approved, the Tax Department will re-export and reupload.
- Accepted with Errors and Partially Accepted submissions will need to be corrected and reuploaded by the Tax Department.
- Rejected submissions will need to be corrected and resubmitted.
Note: If you are unsure how to assist the franchise in correcting their forms, submit a ticket to iSolved for guidance before advising the franchise.
Creating a Replacement File
In some cases, a replacement file will need to be created rather than a standard re-export.
